SKETCH JOURNAL EXHIBIT ART
When the Exhibit Planner approached me to work on the exhibit for the visitors center at the site of a significant French & Indian War era fort, the challenge he presented was to engage an entire family in the material. He said that he had "Too many maps and a few rusty belt buckles". What we came up with together was to create an artist's journal that depicted aspects of the lives of individuals who lived, worked and served at the fort during its various occupations. This put a story and a face to the more scholarly material that was also displayed. This series of "journals" were set up in front of their respective period displays and are made to be turned like pages of an actual journal. these examples are representative of the 36 "pages" that were created for the exhibit.
Plans are to eventually publish the entire journal as an actual book.
